I did a holiday

This holiday has been in the works for a while now I think we originally booked it last year, a two week cruise around the Mediterranean calling in at:-

• La Coruna, Spain
• Mallorca, Spain
• La Spezia, Italy
• Marseille, France
• Barcelona, Spain
• Cadiz, Spain

We had a great time and much good food was consumed.

Work

Then we got back and I had to go back to the daily grind of work, only to find out that one of the people I really get on with has handed in his notice and another person who has been a great help on my project was about to hand in his. This is not good. 😱

Home

I've been trying to figure out what I want to work on next at home. A few things have come up, one of which is that I'm not fully happy with Hugo. Mainly how the pages are managed but also how hard it is to switch themes. So I thought I would put some thought into making a SSG¹ of my own. Not for general use but just for me and my site. I've got some code somewhere for importing the existing Hugo Posts and Pages that I can modify so that they have a consistent Front Matter Header and then I'll need a configuration file for the site and to write up a simple template engine. All in all it shouldn't be that hard 😉

I've been trying to make time for more reading and watching actual films rather than just killing time watching YouTube. This weekend I've been watching the Taken Film series. I haven't watched them in ages and I'm not certain I've seen the third one.

Home Lab

I'm still in the process of moving my home lab to the new server, I just need to find time to transfer things. I also need to workout the best way to migrate my Gitea instance from the old server to the new one.🤔

I've completed my echofeed sign up so I never have to remember to toot that I have posted here again, it's not like I post more than once a month anyway 🙂

I've also been thinking about the old internet as it was in the past, and thought I'd take a look and see if the Way-Back Machine had any back ups. The earliest one I could find was Esoterica a games company my friends and I tried to start back in the mid '90s
